3D Model of a Lamp

This 3D modeled desk lamp was designed in Fusion 360 to explore how form, function, and manufacturability come together in a compact product. I started by identifying key requirements—a stable base, an adjustable light head, and a cable path that would be easy to assemble and service—then translated those constraints into sketches and quick CAD studies. Comparing multiple concepts helped clarify proportions, mounting points, and routing options before I committed to a final layout and overall aesthetic grounded in practical mechanical design.

From there, I built a fully constrained CAD model, refining joint clearances, wall thicknesses, and fillets to balance strength with printability for FDM 3D printing. Iterating through prototype prints revealed where tolerances, fastener access, and assembly order could be improved without compromising the look of the lamp. Each cycle of measurement and adjustment fed back into the Fusion 360 model, reinforcing the value of designing with the full lifecycle in mind—from concept to fabrication—and sharpening my skills in parametric modeling, design for assembly, and rapid iteration.
