Arduino Based Alarm Clock
This Arduino-based alarm clock project explores how an embedded system moves from concept to a reliable, everyday tool. Using an Arduino Uno as the controller, I integrated a 16×2 LCD display for the time readout, tactile push buttons for setting hours and minutes, and a piezo buzzer for the alarm tone. The hardware layout focused on clear wiring, stable power distribution, and a compact footprint that could be adapted into a desktop enclosure or integrated into future housing concepts.
On the software side, I programmed the Arduino to keep time, debounce button inputs, store alarm settings, and trigger the buzzer with a distinct pattern at the set time. To make the device responsive and reliable, I structured the code into modular functions, managed state without blocking delays, and thoroughly tested edge cases like rollover at midnight or rapid button presses. Through this build, I deepened my understanding of embedded C/C++ programming, user interface logic, and iterative testing as a core part of the engineering process.
